TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES AT AFRICA’S PROFESSIONAL TRAINING CENTER IN COMMUNITY HEALTH OF DOUALA.
(1st Community Health Training School in Cameroon)

INITIAL TRAINING:
The School has a Cycle for the Training of Community Health Assistants since 2013 also known as Nursing Assistants of Community Health Option. Entry requirement is GCE O/L; entry is by a competitive examination organised by the Minister of Public Health ; Training duration is 1 year: the School is to graduate its 5th batch of students this year. Graduants have opportunities to write recruitment examinations organised by the Ministry of Public Service. Admission through a competitive exam conducted by the Ministry of Public Health.
These new types of health personnel in Cameroon can easily be employed by the health and allied sectors, Councils, Civil Society Organizations and NGOs.

CONTINUOUS/ CAPACITATING TRAINING PROGRAMME:
Since the academic year 2016/2017, the School has proposed a continuous training program of a 3-12 months duration for young graduates (from GCE to Masters), Health Professionals and allied sectors as well as for community actors, civil society and municipal personnel desiring to have competence and expertise in public and community health, health Promotion, Communication for Development applied to health, Health Management and Health Financing. Maîtrise Avancée en Santé Publique à l’Université de Genève

L’Université de Genève a le plaisir d’ annoncer l'ouverture des inscriptions pour la Maîtrise en Etudes Avancées (MAS) en Santé Publique (Faculté de Médecine, Université de Genève, Suisse).

Ouverte aux professionnels disposants d'un diplôme universitaire ou d'une haute école en santé ou en sciences humaines, le MAS s'effectue durant trois ans en cours d'emploi, à hauteur de cinq semaines  par année d'enseignement présentiel en français, complétées par des projets personnels (en français ou en anglais). Cette formation est reconnue par les sociétés médicales et professionnelles (FMH et la SSPH+).

A ce jour, plus de 180 diplômé-es de par le monde ont bénéficié de cette formation. Ils-elles occupent des postes à responsabilité dans la santé publique en Suisse et à l’étranger. Pour sa trentième année qui commencera en septembre, le MAS accueillera le Professeur Jean-François Etter en tant que nouveau directeur, ainsi qu'une équipe enseignante et administrative largement renouvelée, afin de répondre au mieux aux besoins des étudiant-es, tant en termes de méthodologie que de connaissances dans les différents champs de la santé publique.
